Do You Seek the Support of NA Shadow Council?

Maybe you don't care. So be it. But if you do...

We were present at the premier campaign event of the 2007 mayoral campaign, the serial debate between the mayoral candidates of each primary party. Other witnesses will attest in affirmation that our current mayor voluntarily expressed his intention to make two-way streets in the downtown area his No. 1 priority.

We take campaign promises seriously here at NA Shadow Council.

With the exception of the prescient purchase of the Baptist Tabernacle on 4th Street, and the possible survival of the workplace smoking ban, we can't identify an appreciable accomplishment by this administration from January to date. Forgive us...the intensive yard-waste cleanup of July-August is appreciated. Thanks, Mickey.

In the meantime, with global warming intensifying, we have streets that need mowing, God forbid. The code enforcement officer is barred from enforcing city ordinances at commercial properties, leading to at least one "Felix Unger" to community standards and basic health standards.

We're waiting. Is this England incarnation "more of the same," or is it truly an administration that seeks to make us proud?

Too often I am swift to condemn the actions of the city government, but I have to admit, positive changes are occurring.
Road improvements have been a pain in the morning traffic, but much needed road repairs are occurring, which in my humble opinion are mor important at this point over two way streets downtown.
One of the biggest electorial platforms for this administration was cleaning up the city, and even though is has been 8 months, the ball has started rolling, and the initial discovery meeting was positive, in depth and promising.
Coming from me, and my background on this issue, that alone should speak volumes.
Even despite my fierce opposition to the smoking ordinance, this council was able to come together, in record time and pass a controversial ordinance. A mjority of the the citizens aparrently spoke, and they took action.
and despite my opposition to the ordinance, kudos must be handed out for the council, perhaps not in the arena in fair time and equal treatment of those oppossing the ban vs, those supporting the ban, but in the basic essence they actually did their jobs.

this administration is a mistake now just as it was in the 1990's. Doug did a great job of fooling enough democrats and independents that somehow he had been transformed and reborn into a progressive and humble man.

Caveat Emptor New Albany, you elected him, now pay the price!

where do we start: budget crisis, no policy to curb police abuse of take home cars, inadequate #'s of personnel in the street dept., a continued failed economic development policy, where's the new sustainable jobs doug? A dept. msyor who continues to allow and encourage developers to have theri way with no accountabiluty to the environmental impacts they cause, a refusal to be fiscally responsible and worst, his honors same old arrogance.

wonder if there are any recall england possibilities
